Is it just me, or does anyone else think that out of this year's Spring Carnival the Melbourne Cup will be the least interesting and hyped up race?
I know it's early days but all the interest seems to be centred on the Caulfield Cup and the Cox Plate, so far all the big stories (El Segundo, Emerein, Pompeii Ruler, Primus, etc) look set for either the Caulfield or the Cox Plate.
I know once we get closer naturally excitement will build, but at the moment there doesn't seem too many quality horses being aimed at the big one.
Could be the year when a quality international comes in and finally performs...
