Carlisle

Post by Mrs Mercuri »

Seems to be all the talk atm- prob not helping him get out of his form slump but is the only player out of contract with any form of trade currency & although Id hate to see him leave & dominate elsewhere I think it's something we need to look at if the club persists on playing him forward...

Have heard send him to Freo to replace McPharlin in exchange for a first rounder & a player like Crozier..

Send him to Brisbane as part of an Aish deal?

There is a thread already on this topic.

FWIW I think he should not be traded. We won't get fair value for him.

We should target disgruntled players or players playing below their potential at other clubs.

I had a good chat to Carlisle last night at the soccer. He's certainly frustrated by the way the ball is delivered into the forward line to both he and Joe. I still got a bit of a feeling he still wouldn't mind going down back though. He said he would be borderline for a return against the Bulldogs week after next, but more likely against GWS the week after.

He categorically denied that he has even spoken to Carlton. Said Mark Stevens has no idea.

Hooker looks like a better forward, although still shite goal kicking.

Yep. Reckon he could be worthwhile in a different environment.

I'd be happy to keep Carlisle and dish off our first pick for an established player.

Maybe. He's not that quick though. We need faster players.

No to Yarran, but I will take their priority pick that they are sure to get in the next year or two...would go nicely with ours

My mate works in the sports department at The Age. They're spruiking that the Bulldogs are out of the race and that Jake won't go interstate - so Carlton is in the box seat if he is going to go anywhere. But, they are also saying Essendon is going hard at him to stay.

Sadly I think if he was going to stay he would have signed on. Hope you are right though.

No way. Henderson is nowhere near the talent of Jake, and that's not being one-eyed.

There is no way we're getting their pick if he decides he wants to go there.

Maybe a 3-way with Brisbane for Stefan Martin and swap of picks?

Definitely with you on Martin as a priority.
