The way things are going, we'll have a top 8 pick. Anyone in the "likely" category from this round of u18 games?Dodoro wrote:Essendon will have its full compliment of draft selections available this year after losing picks in the last two drafts.

“The last two years our philosophy had to change given that we had sanctions and restrictions imposed.
“Getting back to uncompromised drafting is going to be fantastic for the club this year.”

Not supposed to be a strong draft so even more crucial we get it right

A club that likes to recruit and develop??? How has that gone over the last 15 years?
Re: The Draft. 2015.
Tom Wallis has been named in the best for Calder the past two weeks. However, has not be picked to play any games for Vic Metro and Calder have been pretty shite this season.BenDoolan wrote:Mrs Mercuri wrote:Not supposed to be a strong draft so even more crucial we get it right

At least it shouldn't cost a lot to pick him as a father/son if we want him.

Onballer I believe, there is another Daniher too (Harvey, I think) not sure he warrants drafting, if we take him, I think it would be as a rookie father/son selection.BenDoolan wrote:Any idea how he goes? Re: The Draft. 2015.
I'd love it if we got Parish and Mathieson from the falcons.
Re: The Draft. 2015.
Is Parish a chance at 4?
If we get the saints #5, who else is likely d'ya think?

Re: The Draft. 2015.
Melbourne wanted to trade Howe and pick 6 to Gold Coast to get pick 3 because they were desperate to get Parish. Reckon at pick 4 we will either take Parish who is pure midfielder or Francis who is more of a utility. If we end up with pick 4 & 5 you would assume we would take both of them.F111 wrote:Is Parish a chance at 4?

Parish is the one IMO.F111 wrote:Is Parish a chance at 4?

Apparently though we've had more interviews with Weitering (spelling?) then anyone.

Weitering and Schache will end up at Scum and Brisvegas (not necessarily in that order).boncer34 wrote:Parish is the one IMO.F111 wrote:Is Parish a chance at 4?

GC have next pick, so put in a bid for their highest rated Academy player and force them to use pick 3.
Then we get to use our pick to what we want...IMO Parish at 4
5 for me is a toss up between Kennedy and Hipwood (I just hope they don't take any kid that has been injury prone...we don't need Gumby v2.0)
If we have 8, I reckon both Kennedy and Hipwood...
Re: The Draft. 2015.
Carlton now have picks 20 and 21 which could trump us for pick 8.

Phantom Draft. 4th July 2015 to 18th October..

Seems a few of the top 20 have been injured quite a bit.
1 Weitering
2. Schache
3. Mills...season ended with another injury, with a hamstring complaint
4. Parish
5. Hopper...sat out of testing at the combine with a groin problem
6. Kennedy...knee injury saw him miss three months
7. Francis
8. Weideman...injuries have kept him from getting a consistent run at things. Last year he battled an ankle problem that interrupted his start to this year and it resurfaced before the mid-year carnival, forcing him out for the rest of the season
9. Curnow...broke down with a knee injury, which saw him miss a large chunk of the middle of the season
10. Balic...wrist surgery in August saw him unable to complete any testing at the combine
11. Milera...minor heart surgery
12. Burton...14 months in the rehab group overcoming the serious leg injury that wiped out his 2015 season
13. Keays.
14. Hipwood
15. Tucker
16. Mathieson
17. Ah Chee
18. Gresham
19. Collins
20. McKay
21. Dunkley...Some injuries and jumping between different teams meant Dunkley didn't manage to quite find his rhythm this season. After a back stress fracture ruled him out for most of the first half of the year,
22. Bonner...ouldn't test at the combine as he nursed an ankle injury with a moon boot
23. Oliver
24. Ryan Clarke
25. Mitchell Hibberd...Hibberd missed out on last year's draft as he recovered from injury, but has made up for lost time this season as a 19-year-old.

Re: The Draft. 2015.
I want Curnow if Parish ain't available.
Heck if we could go all falcons players it would be a good result.
Really think Parish, Curnow And Mathieson fill our needs.
Maybe throw in Rioli for good measure at 25
