Small Forward hunt
Small Forward hunt
So if we are serious about going after a 'small' forward this off-season (I mean rumour has it we are even looking at Gibbons from the scum, who I would regard as a list clogger). I`m wondering if we should take look at Bobby Hill as he apparently wants back to Vic. I reckon he would add some spark to our forward line. Thoughts?. OK just noticed, we are looking. Go get him Adrian.

Comes with his own wind sock too….
Hill is a decent get but honestly, anything more than a future second rounder (likely to be in the 30s) would be overs.
I suspect McCartney will use North to up the ante on Essendon. The man despises Jackets Dodoro.

Re: Small Forward hunt
It will be interesting to see how this plays out. He was pick #24 in the 2018 draft. Played 30 games for 25 goals. Nothing there to indicate it warrants anything more than what you suggest.Windy_Hill wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 6:33 pm Comes with his own wind sock too….

GWS needs to make space for a really overpriced offer to Lobb (700K a year ... really???)Windy_Hill wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 6:33 pm Comes with his own wind sock too….

If they cant get rid of their former captain, they will take anything they can get to make space

Lobb’s Ok,but hasn’t really stamped his Mark on the Game has he?!
Re: Small Forward hunt
GWS playing hardball for Hill
Probably asking for 2 first round picks... arseholes given the armchair ride they have been gifted
Meanwhile Collingwood sniffing around

Looks like Bobby’s staying put.
Oh well, when his contract is up,he’ll look to move again.

Re: Small Forward hunt
Thus would be a great replacement for Mozzie. Hopefully a deal can be done, but not for a first rounder.
Re: Small Forward hunt
Frankly, I'm not interested in Hill - unless he comes cheap (future 3rd or less).
He's "enigmatic" at best - meaning he has talent and full of possibility but rarely delivers it.
He's like Fantasia in his latter days at Essendon - someone that we thought could be a game changer but rarely lived up to it.
The small forward we need is someone with more size, with at least 2 of the following abilities - can get their own ball, be a leading option, be a crumber, with good defensive skills.
Can't be bothered going through AFL lists to find someone like that, but someone that comes to mind is Fritch from Melbourne.
He is very uncomplicated, no particular outstanding skills, but finds the right spots regularly. Honestly, he plays HFF, FP by the textbook. How hard can it be to find someone able to do that, to play that role????

Re: Small Forward hunt
Look at the VFL, SANFL or WAFL for a young small goalkicking forward.
Whoops - we cannot

Cya next year Bobby.
Re: Small Forward hunt
Appealed to go to Vic on compassionate grounds and was in tears apparently when the deal fell through. Shame.
