Kind of ironic isn't it.
12 months ago almost to the day.....Bombers flogged by 84 points by Port Adelaide.
Rutten gets sacked.

But Brad Scott says "patience" ... so we're all cool with that and wait another 12 months

Have to wonder if Rutten said "patience" AND had the additional support and development thrown at the team this year, would he have been sacked???

PS - Josh Mahoney, hiding in the shadows, says "you suck Rutten" :!:

Worst ever losses in the history of the EFC

1. 163 point loss Essendon 11.7.73 V Sydney 36.20.236 at the S.C.G. 26/07/1987
2. 160 point loss Essendon 8.8.56 V Hawthorn 32.24.216 at the M.C.G. 01/08/1992
3. 147 point loss Essendon 7.11.53 V Collingwood 30.20.200 at Victoria Park 03/07/1971
4. 138 point loss Essendon 6.14.50 V Adelaide 30.8.188 at Football Park 02/06/2006
5. 126 point loss Essendon 5.6.36 V Greater Western Sydney 25.12.162 at Sydney Showground 19/08/2023
6. 116 point loss Essendon 6.5.41 V Geelong 21.31.157 at Corio Oval 08/09/1934
7. 114 point loss Essendon 7.9.51 V Hawthorn 25.15.165 at VFL Park 23/05/1987
8. 112 point loss Essendon 8.11.59 V Adelaide 27.9.171 at Docklands 15/08/2015
9. 110 point loss Essendon 8.4.52 V St. Kilda 25.12.162 at Docklands 05/07/2015
10. 108 point loss Essendon 6.7.43 V Hawthorn 23.13.151 at Docklands 10/06/2016

That's right, yesterday's loss was the 5th worst by the club and worse than any time during the supplements saga or when the players were suspended by WADA.

It is worse than any of the losses under Matthew Knights

It is f****** shameful.

The 1987 season was also crappy with a large number of established players sustaining serious long term injuries including M Harvey (1 game played in 1987), L Baker (11 games), A Daniher (4 games), P. Van Der Haar (8 games), B Duckworth (14 games), S. Maddern (14 games), T. Watson (7 games) and N Clarke (7 games).

In contrast, only 2 (or 3) of our best 22 were out yesterday - Ridley, Shiel and arguably Stewart.

That 163 point loss was fkng disgusting. There were 12 premiership players from the all conquering ‘84/‘85 team playing that day. I can’t remember which EFC official said it, but he threatened to strip the players match payments that day.

Same thing should be said of yesterday’s effort. Fking thieves.

Going back as far as 2005... Dodoro was approached and asked "Why the f#$k you were at the match...(it was a Saturday afternoon game) instead of out scouting for future players... very comical with a rather drunk JohnG and myself... he tried to get security to protect him... the bloke just laughed.

And yet 18 years later he is still in charge 😡😡

Are you sure? The Essendon person commenting on how fantastic the re-signing of Heppell was ... Dorodo

Not the Captain. Not the Coach. Not the President. Not the CEO.
