Talk about everything Essendon. Past, Present and Future if it's about the Bombers this is the place to be.

*Bump*

Has just signed on for one more year.

https://www.essendonfc.com.au/news/1413 ... on-in-2024
Former Captain and beloved Bomber Dyson Heppell will don the sash for the 14th season, with the defender agreeing to a one-year contract.

The heart and soul of Essendon, Heppell has been instrumental in guiding the Bombers’ young list this season.

Playing every game, Heppell’s maturity and reliability across the backline has been important to the growth of the team this season.

Despite his form being OK over the last couple of months, IMO he should have announced his retirement.

If the marketing team is, to borrow a phrase from Caroline Wilson, so delusional to think that the team has "grown" this season ... just f*** me dead...

The "jobs for the boys" mentality is still alive and kicking ... and until that goes, this club will remain a basket case.

Has announced his retirement.

It is the right time to do so.

You forget just how good he was before the foot injury and the saga when he was a genuine midfielder. His game also seemed to suffer under the weight of the captaincy.

Thanks for the service and slugging on during the dark times this club has gone through. It hasn't been easy.

I was as guilty as many for canning his latter games, but you could not question the bloke's loyalty and dedication to the club and the fact that he stuck by the Dons during the horror stretch that was ASADA.

Great that he was a one club player and I doubt if there was much more he could have given us.
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark
