Maybe Clarkson forced the Board’s hand? They enquired if he would be interested in coaching the club, and he may have said “only if you conduct an external review of the club”. Then he may have said “just letting you know that I’m seriously considering North’s offer”.
Next minute, Brasher is pushed because he didn’t want an external review. Suddenly, things change…
