Devon Smith looking for an out to "apparently".

Thank heavens - it is an Essendon tradition for at least one of the leadership group to leave.

Either Dev Smith is cooked - based on his recent horrible drop away in form or he doesn’t give a stuff.

Either way, not good. He was unbelievable in his first year so you would think it’s injury related. Am surprised he wants out if true.

Yeah he had a few team isssues at the beginning but seemed to settle down. Love to know the goss here - it's just a personal thing and not the start of a landslide. If he's looking for another club, I guess he at least must think his injury isnt likely to be career ending.

This is not really an indication that Tippa and Stringer are seeking a move

Edmund also said there were whispers forward stars Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti and Jake Stringer were among those frustrated with the club’s wayward 2020 season.

Apart from that - Stringer has not done much this year and than again neither has Smith.

Tippa is the only one of that three I'd be really concerned about

Smith is expensive with a dodgy knee (good luck in finding a new club there) and Stringer has also had some injury worries

If this is about how everyone seems to have been promised midfield time - i think it is time to remember that this is a team game - everyine cannot be captain and play where and when they want to... which seems to be part of the issue of late

I read he wanted more midfield time. Just doesn't seem like a midfielder to me. And the last thing we need is someone being played in a position because it's THEIR preference.

Interest in Josh Dunkley, Jye Caldwell, and Will Brodie...& one or 2 others I can't recall.

I think Dunkley might be a good fit for Rutten's vision.
And Caldwell & Brodie are still young and were high draft picks, so presuming they have the talent, they could be moulded into roles that Rutten is looking for perhaps.
