Essendon Rumour Mill
Re: Essendon Rumour Mill
As for Bennel it probably would be crazy to consider him if he was 100% fit. Banking on him changing his ways after blowing it with two other clubs and recovering from injuries that have previously been unknown to medical science is complete insanity. What are we mad scientists?
Re: Essendon Rumour Mill
Well I reckon he needs a year away from the Big League, but his manager clearly does not, which I guess he’s doing what he’s paid to do,that is representing his Clients’ interests.
Whoever picks him up,has to be Absolutely Clear with him,No Funny Stuff or you are OUT!
I am prepared to give his poor old Calf Muscles a little slack.Super surgery he might have had,but it’s still no guarantee he can stay injury free.Hopefully he can stay free of Injury,so he has a chance of relaunching his career, with us or someone else.

Yes Grassy sadly when you have chronic problems like that other bits of you like hammies can get damaged trying to compensate for them. However the good part is that you wouldn't have to pay a fortune for a look-see in the twos.grassy1 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 3:23 am Well I reckon he needs a year away from the Big League, but his manager clearly does not, which I guess he’s doing what he’s paid to do,that is representing his Clients’ interests.

No no no...
The noise I have heard is that he just doesn't do the rehab work - has never gotten fully fit during his time back in WA.
We don't need to be chasing rainbows - I would rather another Snelling type that has worked hard to get close being rewarded than take the risk on a VERY high risk individual like HB.

Rumor doing the rounds that 9 players from the pies involved in organised gambling on AFL & pies games - resulting in loss of points this year and the 9th team going onto the finals... Might be the only way we get in ...

Re: Essendon Rumour Mill
If true, the minimum penalty would have to apply to the players in terms of suspensions, given for example,a Timekeeper was suspended for 6 weeks for betting on a match, not even betting on his match.
Filth mightn’t lose points I suspect, but AWFULL would look like deadset Fools if they didn’t act on this in some way,.......if True.

Re: Essendon Rumour Mill
Looking at the injuries we already have, what is one more crock???
Harley has a bad reputation in terms of not doing what he is supposed to, almost like a defiance disorder. Stringer might be the perfect mentor.
According to other clubs, we are the drug specialists. He would need to have a water tight contract, first mistake or cock up is his last. Play him in the seconds worth a try I guess. Nothing much to lose if he costs us nothing and pay him peanuts while he is rehabbing.
However, I doubt anything will come of this.

Re: Essendon Rumour Mill
Don’t know who his Manager is,though I suspect it’s Colin Young in WA.
Don’t think Young will cop any of his clients getting peanuts, but he will be wise enough to know,Harley will be starting negotiations on a low base(a bit more than peanuts).
Whilst Richmond and/or Caroline are moaning about losing assistant coaches, they are possibly looking at Harley themselves.
Another lodger for Dimma?

Re: Essendon Rumour Mill
How do you balance risk on Harley?
1. Risk him breaking down at the bombers and taking ?? Chance away from a young draftee
2. Risk him going to another club, getting his mind and body right and starring against Essendon in a crucial match?

Re: Essendon Rumour Mill
You hope this New Surgery has given him the lease of Life he has desperately needed, which in turn might change his Training and disciplinary Attitudes, then you try and beat other suitors for his services!
Funny that!
I suggested he should take a year off the Big League, but if he and his Manager thinks he can make it,let’s have a look!
Whoever picks him up,then it’s up to YOU to make it work,Harley!

Re: Essendon Rumour Mill
Brayden Sier from Collingwood will apparently request a trade to EFC at end of season.
Big offer apparently on table to stave off Carlton.
Also allegedly sniffing around Butler (but he seems to have attitude problems IMO)...

After last night you'd think EFC might not be the go to club we'd like it to be.

Re: Essendon Rumour Mill
hes not getting a game at collingwood. first and foremost players want to play. he meets a big need we have. jobe watsons role has not been filled since he left. dave myers is not up to it and will probably be delisted at the end of this season one would think.
