...that we really buried a team? I mean crunched them so bad that the media ripped into their players and coach etc etc..
Beating Hawthorn by 10 goals doesn't count (rd 1 '23).
I honestly can't remember anything recently. It's reflective of the lack of "edge" over a whole game. They might do the edge thing well for a period within a game, then go to cruise mode. Sort of lazy, complacent mode. Something in their head says "ohh this is easy, I'll back off a tad and avoid an injury". Instead the thought should be "go hard, switch on, bury these *&%$#@"
The games v weagles and roos in '23 were opportunities to do this, to really bury a lower team. Instead we looked like a lower team and were lucky to get away with a win. Switched off, cruiser mode!
This year the "lower" teams appear to be weagles (though improving), hawks, 'roos and tiggers. We're playing well above that...and we really should nail all three. Switch on Bombers...start at the kick ins from our goal misses!
Our percentage needs the change in mindset.
When was the last time....
Re: When was the last time....
We did beat the Eagles by 8 goals over there last year.
North and Suns the year before.
Saints, North, Suns and Adelaide 10 goals+ in 2021.

Essendon Football Club- We arent arrogant, just deluded.
Re: When was the last time....
You mean 15 - 20 Goals,F111?
Re: When was the last time....
Yeah, if we have any claims to be a threat, we need to bury a couple of teams.
Can't really remember the last time we did that.
We've got a few chances in the next 4 weeks, but I'm not thinking we'll bury any of them. At this stage we're working hard but nowhere near elite, so smashing the opposition seems unlikely.
The upside is that our percentage probably doesn't matter now - unless we're competing with Collingwood for a spot or another team that draws later in the season.

Re: When was the last time....
61 Years since my lot finished Minor Premier with 15 Wins and 6 Losses and a Percentage of 103.Won a lot of close ones, but the luck ran out in the Finals with a Straight Sets Exit, kicking a CRIMINAL 10.25 in the Preliminary Final,to lose to the Eventual Premiers,Swan Districts by 8 points!
Re: When was the last time....
Yes there's that!
Alongside not burying opposition teams when we should, it's not been out of the question that those same teams scare the bejesus out of us. Less of that would be a great start!
Re: When was the last time....
True!
Occassionally my boys have had those days, but I'm struggling to remember the last time that happened.we're just happy to Win now.Andrew Jarman Coached one of them in 2009!
Re: When was the last time....
Yep.
Jars' coached our Last 100+ Points Victory against anyone.
Saturday August 22,2009 Round 22
Perth 24.19 163 v Peel 6.7 43 Lathlain Park
About 1700 Diehards saw that,1500 of which were Our's!
Ross Young probably would have been the driving Force for that Thumping Win,on the way to his Sandover Medal,2 Votes clear of future West Perth Coach,Jason Salecic!
Don't ask about the Losses by that much.Too many Horror Shows to mention and lost count, with most a Top of Grandstand Bird's Eye View!
Funny thing is though, the Club is still going Stong these days, with 8 Wins a Draw from 12 Games in All Grades to start the Season.
