If I get a chance to browse The Age on Thursday,I’ll read about it.
There’s a World Cup on you know.
Wonder if that’s where Gil is headed instead of the AFLW Grand Final and Draft?

Re: 2022 AFL Draft
Please, can we just draft the kid who all the pundits reckon will be the best at our pick than letting 20 year perennial draft fluffer Adrian Dodoro anywhere near the selection.
Re: 2022 AFL Draft
Melbourne offering pick 13 and 2 x future first rounders (freo & melb) for next year for our pick 4.
If it were a team not likely finish top 4 next year you would have to consider.
Is pick 4 worth picks 13,17,18 at worst?
I’d prefer to keep pick 4 than live in regret if that pick becomes a star.

Well, we didn't take the offer.bpdons wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 5:46 pm Melbourne offering pick 13 and 2 x future first rounders (freo & melb) for next year for our pick 4.

Tough decision.
Placing your bets on one "star" or with 3 "solid" players.
I have no idea of what next years potential draftees are like, but if I was deciding I reckon I'd take Melbourne's offer.
Because....we already have a young list, too many kids is a concern, so let's create a "gap year" before introducing more, plus we get 3 potential useful players instead of 1 (and I'm a believer in "role players"), and our age profile is spread a bit more which helps in a few years time.

Tsatas
Hayes
A. Davey
J. Davey
Must admit, I didn’t know much about Phillipou going into the draft, but then the flood of info I saw of him just prior to draft night - I was taken in. Still, Tsatas is going to be terrific. He, Hobbs and Perkins will be around for a decade plus. Sweet.

Hobbs and Perkins were good in '22.
I'd also like to see Cox & Jones do some consistently good stuff in '23.
Add:
Montgomerie
Munkara.
The future has promise, but we do say that every year.
Add the rest of the turnover that's happened and hopefully we'll see some real improvements.

Yes, as we’ve seen with Horne-Francis.F111 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 03, 2022 8:41 pmAlways an increased chance of homesickness for the interstaters.Windy Hille wrote: ↑Sat Dec 03, 2022 10:28 am Tsatas

Wonder if Phillipou will give the Saints 100% commitment. Rossy Lyon will be a factor for sure.
Re: 2022 AFL Draft
He'd be crazy if he didn't. It's his one chance to impress - for the club he's drafted to and for potential future suitors.Windy Hille wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 4:45 pmWonder if Phillipou will give the Saints 100% commitment. It will be super interesting to see how Horne-Francis goes in 2023.
Re: 2022 AFL Draft
He's had surgery on both calves. That might be a factor if the causal pain continues to limit performance. No guarantee the surgery works, but for him he'd get the best shot at rehab.
