Re: Throw In The Scarf 🧣
Saw some AFL records tumble over the edge from Level 3 late in the game. Ripped up pages raining down on Level 2 members. Paper planes as well. The chickens were restless around the wing area…

One of these players will play finals this year after playing 20 out of a possible 22 games this year. He is under consideration for AA selection and ESPN has him polling Brownlow votes in 3 games (with a likely 3 votes today).
The other is a much loved player at the club that hasn't won a final in 7,283 days.
We kept Heppell with a promise that he would stay on after playing as an assistant coach (along with those other experienced finals campaigners /S Brett Stanton and Michael Hurley in another jobs for the boys deal). This could still have happened.
Successful clubs make the tough and ruthless calls. Weak clubs dither.

And to think that our Recruiting supremo f***** up big time by only offering D'Ambrosio a one year contract ON THE ROOKIE LIST ...
This meant that, under the AFL rules, D'Ambrosio automatically became a Delisted Free Agent and so came up on the Hawk's radar.
It wasn't just he was offered a one year contract. It was he would have been on the rookie list for the 3rd year.
Had he been offered a one year contract on the senior list, he may have still been with us.
Though he likely would have only got 6 games with the seniors... 4 as a sub and 2 in the forward pocket.

Absolutely NFI in list management.
