Sounds like you read Julian Mays`brilliant book The Intervention, written back in the 70`s I believe. If not, do yourself a favour and grab a copy. She was well before her time.

Why do we keep building on flood plains? What is the point of rebuilding on known flood plains? The Government should reclaim that land and move people elsewhere. To continue to rebuild State, Federal Governments and Councils must work together to solve this problem sensibly and not keep making the very same mistakes over and over again.

Councils need to learn to say NO to developers who are short sighted for $ and blind to the consequences once they receive it.

Moola, green backs, folding stuff is the cause of most of our problems today in the world. People on the take. Until such time as so called public servants and the like stop, no more tip offs, no more bribes which come in all sorts of variations, when governments start actually working for the good of the people. We have to help make it happen.
